Enrichment

The children are given every opportunity to explore and investigate the world outside the school. We make good use of the local environment and school grounds to learn about local history, to enjoy the natural surroundings, and to investigate places of work and leisure.

Day visits and field trips may take place throughout the school year to enrich and inspire the themes/topics being taught in each class.

A residential visit is organised annually for the older pupils in the school.

If you wish your child to take part in any outings it will be necessary for you to complete a consent form. Where the school is charged for the activity, i.e. admission and/or transport costs, we request a voluntary contribution from parents to meet the full cost. The school is able to help parents/carers with genuine financial difficulties who should contact the headteacher.

Home Learning

Children often want to follow up activities at home and this is encouraged by the teachers. We encourage and expect children of all ages and capabilities to read at home at least three times a week. Homework activities are provided for children of all ages inline with the school’s Home Learning Policy.
