Parent Partnerships

We welcome parents and carers as essential partners in the well being of the school and the successful education of your children. We hope you will take the opportunity to become fully involved and supportive of the school’s activities.

Parents’ Meetings

Various parents’ meetings are held throughout the year. Formal parent consultations are held in the Autumn and Spring terms. In the Summer term annual reports to parents are issued.

Each termlet we hold a Parents’ Forum which is an opportunity for parents to raise issues or concerns with the headteacher and chair of governors, as well as to learn more about the school.

However we encourage parents to raise concerns immediately with the class teachers or the headteacher who is always present on the playground before school.

Helping in School

We highly value the voluntary efforts of parents and other members of the community who help the school. Our needs are varied, listening to children read, helping with computer work, football, sewing, cooking, art and crafts to mending books and going on visits. Your contribution will be very welcome so please do not hesitate to offer your services!

Concerns

If you or your child is concerned about anything at school please come and see us. The teachers are happy to see you after school, or before 8.40am to arrange a mutually convenient time to discuss a problem. If you feel you need to talk to the Headteacher please call in to see her or arrange a convenient time for later in the day. The school has a Complaints Procedure approved by the Governing Body which is available from Reception.

Communication with Parents

A regular school newsletter updates you with what is going on in school. Parent’s notice boards are located in the parent shelter. Many messages are conveyed to parents via our ‘Teachers to Parents’ text messaging service which is a very fast and efficient method of receiving information, popular with parents. Please ensure that the school has up to date mobile telephone numbers for you to benefit from this service. We often alert parents via a text message that they have been emailed a letter.

We also have a school Twitter account, @Marshfieldp, which is updated as activities happen.
